The first child support payment you receive will be sent to your home in the form of a “warrant” or a check.
You will soon receive a Welcome Letter from the Child Support Division. This letter will include all information about your case. It will also include information about the Texas Payment Card, direct deposit and other options that you have for receiving your child support payments.
What is the Texas Payment Card and how does it work?
The Texas Payment Card or smiONE Visa Prepaid Card is an easy way for you to receive child support payments without having to have a bank account. It’s a prepaid card that offers all the benefits of a VISA. You can use it anywhere VISA debit cards are accepted.
After you have enrolled in Texas Payment Card, your Child Support Division payments will be loaded within 1-2 days on to your smiONE Card.

Texas Payment Card Fees
The Texas Payment Card comes with fees. When you receive your card, you will be sent a Cardholder agreement. This document lists all fees associated to the smiONE Visa Prepaid card. You can also access the cardholder agreement. All fees subject to change.
